| Wrestling Stuff: I'm Going To Wrestlemania! |

While others whine about some sort of WWE/Ticketmaster conspiracy keeping them from their tickets to wrestling's biggest event, I got mine. Mike and I are sitting in the 400s, but we'll be at MSG on March 14, 2004!
Hopefully wrestling will have turned a corner and become interesting again by then.

Fred Blassie, former wrestling World Champion, former manager, and recent author, passed away tonight at the age of 85.
Probably the greatest thing I can say about Blassie is that he made me hate his guts when I was a kid. As an adult, I can respect how much skill that took, and how good he was at it.
Tomorrow I plan on picking up Blassie's autobiography. I had it on my Amazon wishlist for a while, and now seems like as good a time as any to pick it up.

| Wrestling Stuff: Quickie Book Review: Tonight... In This Very Ring by Scott Keith |

Disclaimer: I'm thanked in the dedication. You're welcome, Scott.
The Good: Very thorough
(and occasionally amusing) discussion of the WWF from Montreal through the end of the WCW invasion (and before the namechange to WWE), although the book purports that this is a history from the 80's onwards. Scott does talk about the first thrity years of the company... in 10 pages.
The Bad: Why would anyone pay $20 for this when his rants are available at 411mania.com for free? And for that matter, why use three-year-old rants in the book when they contradict the majority of the new material (ie: Triple H is reviled in the book, but in the rants he gets treated as a golden god.)
In truth, the biggest problem with this book is that it's written for Scott's audience, which wouldn't have much use for a book like this anyway. A wrestling fan who hasn't read Scott Keith might appreciate this more, but I can't really review it from that standpoint.
In my opinion, for the next book, Scott should forget about the rants and just write all new material. With the rants thrown in from the various websites, it felt like those Bugs Bunny movies that had new stuff wrapped around the same old cartoons.
Buy it if you can find it on sale. And if you're a wrestling fan, of course.

Masked Wrestler Wins Japan Assembly Seat
The Great Sasuke has always been one of my favorites from Japan, and I always get a kick out of it when a pro wrestler I've heard of makes it into politics, but something tells me that the mask needs to go if he's going to be taken seriously.

Kurt Angle out of WrestleMania, won't return to the ring until next year
Dammit, dammit, dammit, dammit, dammit! Apparently his neck is in such bad shape he can't even wrestle tonight in Bridgeport to drop the WWE title.
Welcome to Wrestlemania 13. We're going to end up with Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker at this rate...

Stone Cold's return, Rocky vs. Hamburgler II, and Jericho's beatdown on HBK were all good. As for the rest... well, you can't polish a turd.
